Napa resident Irena Miles will discuss her recent trek to Mongolia.
Almost twice the size of Texas, with 3.3 million inhabitants, Mongolia is the most sparsely populated sovereign state. The country is encircled by two modern superpowers: Russia to the north and China to the south. It is home of the once powerful Mongol Empire, the largest contiguous land empire in world history. An estimated 3 million horses inhabit the Mongolian steppe. They played a pivotal role in the empire and an integral role in today’s Mongolian culture. Please join Miles as she reflects on her ‘Remarkable Journey’.
